A graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, Erik distinguished himself as an All-American football player, demonstrating early on his commitment to excellence and teamwork. He pursued his medical education at Kansas City University, further honing his skills and knowledge in the medical field.

Dr. Petersen completed his residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Texas A&M, laying a strong foundation for his subsequent career in Emergency Medicine. Over the past 15 years, he has emerged as a leader in this demanding field, with a keen focus on patient outcomes and quality care. His dedication to holistic patient care, catering to individuals from all stages of life, from newborns to centenarians, underscores his comprehensive approach to medicine.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Erik's personal life is equally fulfilling. He is happily married for 25 years to Jennifer, his wife and best friend. Together, they have four beautiful grown children. While waiting on the joy of becoming grandparents, Erik stays actively involved in sports, a passion he shares with his family. He has coached all of his children in various sports, including volleyball, soccer, baseball, football, and wrestling, showcasing his commitment to health, fitness, and family bonding.
